What Is HANÇER and Who Makes It?
Elektroland Defence developed HANÇER as part of a fully national programme led by Türkiye’s Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB), aimed at giving the Turkish military an unmanned reconnaissance and combat vehicle capable of advancing into hostile zones ahead of human troops. Four Turkish companies participated in developing this mid-class UGV family, and after completing performance testing, HANÇER is set to enter serial production and be delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces.

Armament and Payloads
HANÇER carries an ASELSAN-made SARP remote weapon station, with two main armament options:
- 7.62 mm machine gun
- 40 mm grenade launcher
Thanks to its independent front and rear suspension and adjustable ground clearance of up to 50 cm, HANÇER is positioned — per its manufacturer’s own claims — as outperforming several competitors in all-terrain mobility.
Control and Operating Features
- Follow-Me mode: an optional feature that lets the vehicle automatically follow its operator via a tether, or even advance ahead of the operator without a direct control unit
- Wireless control: up to 700 m baseline range
- LTE-based control: allows a command-and-control centre to manage the vehicle instantly over much longer distances than direct wireless range
Development Status and Entry into Service
Four Turkish companies participated in developing the mid-class UGV family that HANÇER belongs to, under the oversight of the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB). Following completion of field testing, HANÇER is planned to enter serial production and be delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces. No precise delivery numbers or official contractual timelines have been announced as of this update; any figures published later will be verified against open sources before being added here.
Is HANÇER Suited to Middle Eastern Armies?
As an unmanned reconnaissance and combat vehicle that can be armed with light weapons or grenade launchers, HANÇER fits within a category of systems gaining increasing relevance for armed forces across the Middle East and North Africa in border-security and patrol missions across difficult terrain, without exposing soldiers to direct risk in the initial stages of contact. As of this update, no open-source reporting confirms an export deal or officially declared interest from any specific Arab military in HANÇER.
